Café Assistant

Lostwithiel Community Centre Café is looking for a friendly and reliable Café Assistant to join our team.

The Café sits at the heart of the Community Centre and welcomes a wide range of people each day — from local residents and families to community groups, volunteers and visitors. The Café Assistant will help create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the café. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food and drinks, operating the till, maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and providing excellent customer service.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is able to work confidently and independently in a busy café environment, and brings a positive and professional attitude to the role. Previous café, hospitality or customer service experience would be welcomed, though it is not essential.

Invitation to Tender – Project Management

Lostwithiel Community Centre Improvements

Lostwithiel Community Centre is embarking on a National Lottery-funded capital project to improve the building’s energy efficiency, safety, and long-term sustainability. We are now inviting tenders for Project Management, to provide technical leadership and oversee the delivery of these essential works — including roof, window, and door replacements to be tendered shortly.

The appointed Project Manager will help shape the project delivery plan, coordinate contracts and timelines, and ensure all works meet National Lottery funding and compliance requirements.

Become A Trustee

Join the Board of Trustees at Lostwithiel Community Centre

Lostwithiel Community Centre is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for a Secretary to join our Board of Trustees.
 
The Secretary supports the effective administration and governance of the Board. This includes circulating meeting agendas and papers, recording accurate minutes, maintaining organised board records, and helping ensure the charity meets its governance and compliance responsibilities. The role involves attending one board meeting per month and working closely with fellow Trustees to maintain strong governance standards and continuity as the Centre develops.
 
We are looking for someone who is well organised, reliable and confident documenting discussions clearly and accurately. An understanding of charity governance or previous board experience would be welcomed, though it is not essential. Attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to the responsibilities of trusteeship are important.
